Clasps and fastenings
Visible wear, movement or damage around clasps, catches and connections.
Complimentary jewellery health check
Bring up to three pieces you are worried about or simply want checked. Helen or David will listen to what has been concerning you, examine the visible condition and explain what deserves attention now, what can be watched and when a fuller assessment may be sensible.
What we can look at
This is an initial visual assessment, not a laboratory report, authentication, formal valuation, grading report or insurance document. Its purpose is to help you understand what may need attention and what may simply need watching.
Visible wear, movement or damage around clasps, catches and connections.
Visible signs of wear around the parts that hold stones in place.
Concerns about movement, looseness or changes you have noticed while wearing the piece.
Visible thinning, splits, distortion, worn joins or damage to the main structure.
Visible signs that earlier repairs or alterations may affect what is advisable now.
Guidance on whether monitoring, further assessment, repair, resizing, polishing or remodelling appears appropriate.
How the health check works
The aim is to separate what deserves attention now from what can be watched, and to explain when a fuller assessment may help.
Select the complimentary Jewellery Health Check and tell us what you would like checked. The complimentary appointment covers up to three pieces.
Share what you have noticed, what worries you and how each piece is normally worn.
Helen or David will examine the visible condition and explain any concerns, limitations or areas worth monitoring.
You may be advised to monitor the piece, arrange further assessment or consider a care service. If you would like HD Studio to remember a care note or future check, that can be recorded separately with your permission.
If you want the care relationship to continue
The aim is to make future visits easier while keeping your choices about communication clear.
If HD Studio has looked after or checked a meaningful piece, we can keep a simple care record so a future visit begins with useful context rather than from zero.
Some jewellery benefits from another check after a period of wear. A reminder is only recorded when you request it. Joining Circle emails does not switch reminders on automatically.
You do not need to join the HD Studio Circle to receive the complimentary initial Health Check. If you do join, it simply gives the ongoing care relationship a clearer home.
Your appointment
There is no call centre or anonymous hand off. Your health check begins with Helen or David at HD Studio London, with the jewellery in front of you.
Personal advice and thoughtful jewellery care, in the heart of Hatton Garden.
Jewellery health check questions

The complimentary Health Check covers up to three pieces per appointment. If you have more, mention this when booking so Helen or David can discuss the most sensible way to allow enough time.
No. The Health Check is complimentary whether or not you join. Circle email consent and personal jewellery care reminders are separate choices.
No. It is an initial visible condition assessment and conversation. It is not a formal valuation, authentication, grading report, laboratory report or insurance document.
If repair or another service appears appropriate, we can explain what would need to happen from there. A reliable quotation may require a fuller inspection depending on the piece and the work involved.
Appointments are recommended so we can give the pieces proper time. Walk ins remain subject to studio availability.
